New Orleans: Elite Experience at Alto Rooftop inside Ace Hotel!

The Ace Hotel, as many locals know, is one of the most popular hotels located in downtown New Orleans. Their rooftop bar, Alto, is where yelpers got to celebrate the New Year with a bang! Their seasonal winter menu was the highlight of discussions at this Elite event! Although it was a chilly night, guests were kept warm with bonfires, outdoor space-heaters, and a heated pool with temperatures up to 98 degrees fahrenheit. Who wouldn’t want to enjoy a rooftop pool in the middle of winter?!

The Yelp Elites were warmly greeted by the manager and staff of Alto to enjoy the breathtaking views of the city. Everyone was welcomed with their famous, seasonal drinks. Attendees were lucky enough to choose between the “Eternal Summer” and ”Fireside Chat” to sip on by the bonfire. The “Eternal Summer” cocktail was light and refreshing with a sweet note to it and was among the Yelper’s favorite cocktails of the night. It was described as the perfect drink for a hot summer’s day. “Fireside Chat,” the second cocktail, was artfully made with butternut squash-infused bourbon, demerara, black walnut bitters, and fresh orange peel. The flavor was rich and sweet with a kick at the end. It was definitely a nod to the famous Old Fashioned drink.

The Alto family also showcased their signature rooftop bites while yelpers mingled and explored the rooftop. The hors d’oeuvre consisted of ceviche, chicken tacos, quattro formaggi pizza (a crowd favorite) and muffaletta. The ceviche was fresh with a hint of citrus. The quattro formaggi pizza included fontina, parmesan, taleggio, and fresh mozzarella. The secret to this deliciously simple pizza is the roasted garlic purée spread on the dough before the four cheeses are added. We couldn’t get enough of it!

The Yelp New Orleans Elite Squad enjoyed their night at Alto Rooftop Bar at the Ace Hotel and are looking forward to going back. The fires created a warm environment (especially for saying good riddance to 2018), and much fun was had by all. The food, drinks, service and experience was something to remember! We would like to thank the manager and staff for the amazing cocktails and horderves. Fun Fact: Did you know locals can enjoy the rooftop complimentary between Monday through Thursday? Sounds like a win to us.
