There’s nothing more exciting than getting a sneak peek of something before the big reveal. On July 2, Outback Steakhouse in Skokie treated Yelp North Shore Elites to a preview of their new summer menu before it debuted on July 4. Upon arrival, guests were welcomed by Managing Proprietor Amy Anderson and promptly served their charitable Homefront Hero cocktail––a blend of lemonade, watermelon puree, and blackberry moonshine. It should be noted that one dollar from each Homefront Hero cocktail purchase goes to veteran charities. To accompany the drinks, guests mingled and sampled the new prime rib-stuffed steakhouse quesadilla and previewed the upcoming meal and new menu items on a central table display. Once seated, guests were served Outback’s signature Bloomin’ Onions with a cheesy shrimp scampi dip accompanied by Watermelon Rita cocktails. The next course included the new signature wood-fired grilled shrimp with three dipping sauces, followed by center-cut sirloin and creamy garlic mashed potatoes. Of course no steak would be complete without the introduction of a specially-brewed Bloomin’ Blonde Ale, which made for the absolute perfect pairing. For dessert, guests enjoyed a delicious slice of New York-Style cheesecake topped with a thick chocolate sauce. Everything was fabulous!
The event came to a close with the announcement of a gift basket winner (Allison T) from the evening’s social media contest, and Amy brought out her entire staff, including the chef, for an up close and personal introduction. As guests exited the restaurant, Amy handed everyone a thoughtful handwritten note with a $20 gift card to enjoy on their next Outback visit. Read the five-star reviews and view the event photos here.
