Achieving a tidy desk is no easy task. You’re probably going about your day getting things done without caring too much about what your desk looks like- empty coffee cups, leftover breakfast (or just the crumbs), and post-its galore. Don’t worry, we’ve all been there. Spring is a great time to take pause, look at your workspace, and tidy up for a fresh new start. Not sure where to begin? We asked Yelp Home Editor Lauren Makk for some organizing advice.
Quick and easy tips:
- Flowers: Flowers planted in a colorful vase, paint cans, or even milk jugs instantly give your desk personality. Flowers don’t always have to be fresh; try leaves, stems or even fake blooms.
- Don’t throw away your throws: Throws are a great way to add a luxe accent to your workspace. Not only are they useful for when the office is a little chilly, they also add a pop of color to your desk.
- Binder covers: Book wrapping isn’t just for school anymore. Add personality to your files by using wrapping paper to decorate your shelves.
- Shoe storage: To keep your shoes neat and orderly, find a bin or shelf that fits under your desk instead of letting them pile up. Try to keep your shoes to only 2-3 of your favorites.
