Cold Drinks and a Scotch Education for San Francisco’s Elite Squad!
On January 16th a group of Yelp San Francisco’s Elite Squad were treated to an amazing evening at Cold Drinks Bar in San Francisco, CA. Alongside the amazing food and drink from Cold Drinks Bar were three beautiful scotches from Speyburn Distillery. What a pairing!!! food was also served from China Live (located downstairs) and the attendees were wowed with how delicious everything tasted!
Here’s what one of the elites said about the evening, “Swanky. If I had to sum up this venue and everything about it in one word, that would be it. Really nice cocktails were featured and artfully crafted and beautifully served (check out the pics!). Sometimes old fashion and jade warrior were on the menu along with a couple wines and lucky buddha beer. There was also a scotch tasting going on simultaneously courtesy of Speyburn and Old Pulteney.” – Ty
About Cold Drinks Bar – Escape to Cold Drinks, the scotch-centric bar above China Live (follow the bats up the stairs to the gold door), where the barkeeps where tuxedos (custom made by Al’s in North Beach) and the vibe is Old-Shanghai meets Bladerunner.
About Old Pulteney: Old Pulteney, the Maritime Malt, is the company’s flagship whisky brand and holds the coveted title of ‘World Whisky of the Year’ for 2012 in Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible; one of the industry’s highest accolades. The Pulteney Distillery by Wick’s historic harbour is the one of the most northerly on mainland Scotland, and since 1826 it has crafted a Single Malt Scotch Whisky that is the very essence of its remarkable location; bursting with the power and subtlety of the sea. Matured in hand-selected oak casks, Old Pulteney achieved top ten status in the UK single malt market in 2012 and is renowned for its long standing support of sailing and maritime adventures across the globe.
About Speyburn: Since the Distillery was established in 1897, Speyburn has trusted their instincts and challenged whisky norms to create a Single Malt Scotch Whisky worthy of the vibrancy of the Speyside region, using the best local ingredients and the remarkably pure, soft spring water. To this day, Speyburn is the only distillery to use the crystal-clear water of the Granty Burn, producing a remarkable whisky with a naturally refreshing character.
