Yelp’s Great Canadian Road Trips: Nova Scotia’s South Shore

In honour of Canada’s big birthday, we want to help you plan great Canadian road trips to take in all of the great white north. First stop, Canada’s ocean playground, Nova Scotia. Pack a camera, a few of your fave friends, and come hungry. We’re hitting Halifax and journeying to Nova Scotia’s beautiful south shore. Rooooad trip!

Fuel Up: Lucky Penny
Hipster coffee drinks, instagram-able wallpaper and baked goods will get you revved up.

Food Fuel Up: Coastal Café
Drive-throughs are for chumps. Grab a hand-held, cheesy breakfast sandwich for the road from Coastal and you’re good to go.

Photo op: Peggy’s Cove
Alright, you caught us. This is a *slight* detour on the way to the South Shore, but trust us… the photos will be worth it. This little lighthouse is one of the most photographed in the world for a good reason.

Lunch: Trellis Cafe
Feeling like a light lunch? Get the fishcakes, take in the view and then order some more fishcakes.

Second Lunch: Seaside Shanty Restaurant
Wash down your car naps with chowder. Pronounced Chowdaaaaah.

Still hungry/forget to stop?: Mateus Bistro
Carnivores in your car? Mateus thinks it’s time for a meat-ing…

Photo op: The Ovens Natural Park
Looking to camp for the night? Enjoy the ovens. Looking for a photo and a stop that isn’t all about that snack? Enjoy the ovens.

Dinner & Drinks: Savvy Sailor
Burgers? Check. Beer? Check. Cheers!

What an incredible road trip. Here is a beautiful bookmark collection featuring all of our stops to make your journey extra easy.
