No One Does Mother’s Day Brunch Like Chicago Suburbs Do

On Mother’s Day, some children show their gratitude for mom by taking her out to tea and brunch. Our data shows that many plan those outings on Yelp. Searches for Mother’s Day brunch or Mother’s Day tea made up 1 in 75 restaurant searches in the month and a half before Mother’s Day last year in Detroit, the highest of any big city in the U.S.

That’s true devotion to mom – and to eggs and Earl Grey – but it pales before some of the top towns in the country. Six of the top 50 cities in terms of searches for Mother’s Day celebrations had higher rates than Detroit, and three of them are Chicago suburbs. All told, taking mom out for tea or brunch is huge in the Midwest: Eight of the 15 cities with the highest rates are in Illinois, Ohio, Michigan or Minnesota.

Top fifteen:
Oak Brook, IL
Orange County, CA
Schaumburg, IL
Montclair, NJ
Annapolis, MD
Naperville, IL
Detroit
Temecula, CA
Saint Paul, MN
Cincinnati
Laguna Beach, CA
Fort Lauderdale, FL
Cleveland
Minneapolis
Chandler, AZ
