Elites from all over NYC headed over to the last stop in Astoria, where along Ditmars they visited the only Australian establishment in the entire borough in The Thirsty Koala. Imbibing on fine cocktails from Bulldog Gin, CayRum, and Koala Lager beer, it was the Aussie inspired food from executive chef Katherine Fuchs that stole the show.
An onslaught of finger friendly foods that included kangaroo sliders, lamb lollies, gluten free calamari, vegan earth chili, kakadu crostinis, octopus tacos, and much more. Sweets included a tim tam tiramisu (otherwise known as the Triple T!) and a gluten free lamington. Elites ate and drank gingaroos, give me a pash cocktails, and koala lagers while listening to the smooth sounds of Mark Phillips on the sax and Lorenzo Sandi on the double bass. With the event going into midnight, it was certainly one of the most intimate and late night events all year.
