Kansas City Gets Schooled by Port Fonda and Tequila Ocho

On Tuesday, Yelpers gathered at Port Fonda for the inaugural session of Yelp's Booze School. Titled "A is for Agave," lucky classmates learned the ins-and-outs of this magical Mexican plant responsible for bringing us both tequila and mezcal. Leading the lesson was Brandon Cummins of the Tequila Interchange Project, who guided the class through tasting flights of Tequila Ocho and Piedra Almas mezcal. Though it was a tough act to follow, Port Fonda Bar Manager Caitlin Corcoran wowed everybody with a walk through their extensive collection of spirits and provided sneak preview tastes of two hand-crafted cocktails from their spring drink menu! Afterwards, guests enjoyed a complimentary cocktail at the bar and all agreed that this one school in which they'd be glad to re-enroll! Read more here and check out the pics on Flickr
