Passport to Beverly Hills was a 10 day celebration of all things this glorious city has to offer. Over 1,000 people attended one of the many Yelp sponsored events. Here's a run down.
We kicked things off with Being Phobulous at 9021Pho Beverly Hills. This intimate event invited yelpers to feast on a 5 course family style feast with Chef Kimmy Tang, who is known for her Vietnamesse inspired dishes. Chef Kimmy was there herself to greet guests and talk to them about what inspires her. Christina G divulges, "What a treat! So much food, I had to take some home. Everything was delicious! Parking was great, and free after 6 pm whoot-whoot! The Food was super duper delicious, Pho was excellent tasting and portions were very large.
Burgers in Beverly Hills welcomed Yelpers to their South Beverly Drive store for a taste of their grass fed burgers, organic salads and malt shakes. Rebecca P shares, "The Burger Lounge generously closed down their cozy space for us for an
hour, and even more generously, invited us to order "whatever we wanted"
off their menu. I got a Lounge Burger, half Quinoa Salad, and
fries/onion rings to share. I
had a taste of a chocolate shake and the luxurious house brownie. I was stuffed, pleased, and thoroughly enjoyed the food, the amazing service, and the wonderful guys and gals I met in line and sat
with at this "no +1s" event. Great job, Brittany… and Burger Lounge!"
Tea Time in Beverly Hills paired five teas with delicious nibbles from Valerie Confections. Each attendee got a very special gift bag along with a special tea cup to take home. Liz O was thrilled, "I want to extend kudos to everyone at American Tea Room: owners,
David and Randy, along with their staff, Katie and Jordan. They made a
cohesive and smooth team displaying individualized service and gracious
hospitality to us lucky Yelpers. I definitely cannot wait to go
back to American Tea Room to try their Afternoon Tea ($20 per person and
no reservations necessary) and to try and buy some more teas and herbal
Ladies' Night at Kyle by Alene Too had all of Beverly Hills ladies in their finest. In addtion to receiving 20% off the entire store, ladies sipped on Gloria Ferrer bubbly, Pressed Juicery, and munched on healthy sushi and kale salad from M Cafe. No one's sweet tooth left unturned. Lily Darling, Sprinkles Cupcakes, The Toffee Twins, Vosges Haut-Chocolat and Ben and Jerrys Ice Cream Truck were all in tow with their mouth watering goodies.
We finished the series of events that were a part of Passport to Beverly Hills with a bang!
The last three events included Happy Hour at Fleming's, a sit down tasting of Fleming's new happy hour menu. This was Kevin L's first event: "This is my first Yelp event and is a great experience. Thank You to Brittany B for organize this! I thought this is just a happy hour event but actually is a full meal dinner.
They let you choose wine and cocktails. Overall
this was great evening, not only having a great meal but also the chance to get to
know other ylepers. I am looking forward to other events organized by Yelp!"
Experimental Ice Cream at the Ice Cream Lab had Amanda P feeling like a kid again: ""Hold on to your spoons" this is going to be a delicious ride! Thanks
Brittany B., Yelp, Ice Cream Lab, and Rock & Brews for hosting this
awesome event! I felt like an excited five-year-old child every time one
of the four ice cream flavors was freshly made and served before our
eyes. What else do you need on a summer night besides ice cream and
Chocolate Tasting at Vosges was a night full of sweets and drinks to wash it down. Sharr K shares, "What could possibly go wrong when you're first greeted by a hot guy offering bubbles and chocolates?!
I was in heaven after my first bite of the ambrosia truffle (which was
infused with Cointreau). And with a sip of Gloria Ferrer, it was pure bliss.
These were the truffles I kept coming back for more." Lagunitas paired 3 of their beers with Vosges bacon and chocolate bar. The perfect pairing indeed!
Overall, Passport was wildly succesful event thanks to our incredible sponsors and yelpers who were enthusiastic throughout.
Until next time,
