Yelp’s Nouvelle Vague Elite Party in Minneapolis!

Minnesota-made fromage? Chocolate indulgences? Scantily clad ladies? Zut alors! Last week, Twin Cities Elite yelpers were invited to a grand Serge Gainsbash at the newly remodeled Rouge at The LoungeYelp's Nouvelle Vague!

Nouvelle vague

Everyone must've gone back in time and raided Brigitte Bardot's closet before the party, because the guests were dressed to ride the French New Wave as they sipped and sampled.

Yelpers were treated to a sampling of local savories like Mankato-made Camembert from Alemar Cheese , pain au chocolat and award-winning truffles from St. Paul's own  Chocolat Céleste and baked goodies from the new MILF & Cookies.

"Did you try the red velvet cookie sandwiches from MILF & Cookies? 'Cause I did. And they were amaaaaazing. I won't lie; I had two. Sorry I'm not sorry," admits Courtney J.

The lovely Rouge staff served up cheeky cocktails courtesy of Prairie Organic Vodka and the new UV Peach (which just debuted in early April) as they welcomed everybody into their warmer, sassier new space. Thank heavens that the infamous Cathedral Room has been left untouched… if those black-light-painted stained glass walls could talk. Valerie H had visited The Lounge "prior to its makeover and name change to Rouge, but last night definitely cast it in a new and improved light. The staff was friendly, bartenders attentive, and the specialty drinks delicious. Another Peche? Mais oui!"

The amazing ladies of BurlesqueMN's Wicked Wenches Cabaret put on a taudry variety show that made just about everybody blush. If you'd like to see more, BurlesqueMN performs all over town and even offers fitness classes! Emily O remarks, "I loved the vignettes and the movement from space to space.  It created a dynamic performance. I also enjoyed the DIY pasties station. I even had a request to make some for one of the bartenders." Oh la la!

And of course if wouldn't be a party without posh photo ops with Snap Yourself Photo Booth! These black and white wonders are available for profile picture updates right here.

If you still aren't convinced that this was le bees knees, you're welcome to read the reviews on Yelp (or write one yourself if you were there—just remember to hold off on your reviews of the participating businesses until you've had a more typical customer experience). Make sure to check out all the party pics on Flickr (thanks Jenna Klein Photography!).
