Last week Burgh Elites got through the hump day together with Yelp's Holiday Hump Day Elite Event at Commonwealth Press in the South Side. The holiday wouldn't be complete without a little last minute shop til you drop at local screen printing haven to support Yelp Shops Local!
How lucky Yelpers were to be able to create their very own Yelp Commonwealth Press screenprinted T-shirt! Designed exclusively for Yelp, Elites and guests were able to get down and dirty and press their very own like Stacy C, who "promptly choose a T and waited in line. The
owner, Dan, was happy to assist everyone in making their own unique
shirt and in seconds it was hot out of the oven and ready to wear. Already being a fan of CWP, I quickly picked out two store shirts to
add to my purchase. Merry Christmas to me!" No shame in that game. Ran L loved chattin' it up with the CWP crew, who "were very pleasant and
down-to-earth. They were patient with our questions and explaining
the screenprinting process to us." The more you know…
But let's not forget the delish dish on Pipers Pub's. "You REALLY can't go wrong with Piper's" according to Lauren G. "For any
of you who haven't been, go! But wait for it
to cool, it comes out "Piping" hot," like the melt in your mouth mac n' cheese served up. Heidi S was super into the seitan wraps as the "seitan was tough, just how I like it!" Let's not forget East End Brewery, which had a keg full of their Fat Gary brew. As LG noted, "having East End at Commonwealth
events seems to be a trend. I love local businesses teaming up
We'll leave you with the wise words of Joseph F: "I was excited to become an Elite mostly because it meant I could have a
neat badge on my profile. But after finding out about these Elite
events, I decided that it would be backwards of me to not take advantage
of them. It was everything I wanted it to be. Friendly staff more than willing to talk to you about their business,
and other like-minded Elites who wanted
nothing more than the same warm atmosphere, interesting conversation,
and exploration of the city." We couldn't have said it better!
A big thank you to Commonwealth Press, owner Dan Rugh and the amazing staff for treating Yelpers to such an amazing evening and kudos to Piper's Pub for providing the delicious spread. Also, thanks to Ray Miles Creative for the fab photo's that you can check out here. And last, but certainly not least, City Dining Cards, who provided Yelpers with a special treat of Pittsburgh Dining Cards for attending the evening!
Gettin' you through the hump day and every day after,
