'Twas a night of mixology and minglin' for the merry and bright Elites of the PVD at Yelp's Holiday Soiree at The Hope Club, a historical private club on the East Side of Providence. With fabulous craft cocktails mixed with RI's own Sons of Liberty spirits by none other than famed bartender Jen Ferreira and a fruitful spread courtesy of Cozy Caterers, this evening sparkled in more ways than one!
Marcy L "certainly felt like I was in the midst of a Grace Kelly film as I mounted the great stone steps and pushed open the large oak door" of The Hope Club. "Inside, the poinsettias and Christmas trees decorated in true baroque fashion" set the tone for this swanky affair. "The Hope Club was a magical setting for a Holiday soiree. The warm fireplaces, beautifully adorned trees – it was everything" Rebecca M hoped it would be for this "very festive occasion."
Jen Ferreira from Cook and Brown rocked the bar out, impressing John L by "swirling and shaking drinks at the same time." The Uprising Boulevardier concocted with Uprising Whiskey, sweet vermouth and Campari "was excellent and smooth," and The Loyal Cranberry cocktail featuring Loyal 9 Vodka and the bartender's own concoction of homemade cranberry syrup and cinnamon, orange zest, and lemon juice was "refreshing and not too sweet" for Jennifer E. The Adult Egg Nogg was the star of the show, and as our dear Marcy L "watched in awe" as Jen hand-whipped the cream and eggs, gently mixing them with Loyal 9 dark chocolate vanilla bean vodka, she "might have drooled (only a little…)."
Once Mckenzie G "acquired my drinks and tasty cheese plate" courtesy of Cozy Caterers, she "sank back into the comfy chairs and couches that lined the space, and spent the rest of the night enjoying the last Elite event of 2012 with wonderful Providence Yelp community members." And just to let our Elites know how much we adore them, each went home with Yelp Shops Local gift bags full of goodies from Ava Anderson Non Toxic and City Dining Cards – "the perfect holiday gift," and much appreciated by Aly K.
With that, my dears, I must say adiu… But not without a big thank you to Brad Smith for snapping the amazing photos all night! And with that, I'll steal a phrase from the lovely Jay D: "Happy yelpmas to all and to all a goodnight!"
See you in 2013…
