Nothing beats the
feeling of wrapping your lips around a fat juicy burger! Imagine sinking your
teeth into six of 'em! That's exactly what Madison Elites and their guests did
when DLUX invited us to chomp down on far out forms of the American classic at Yelpin’
Between The Buns!
Our evening started with a smattering of delicious dips,
like French Onion with house made chips, Cheesy Spinach & Artichoke with
veggies & garlic crostini and a fan fave, Alsum Farm Spicy Sweet Corn with
Fritos. (Srsly… people were practially
drinking the stuff!)
In addition to stellar starters these guys are quickly
makin' a name for themselves as Madison's bodacious bovine destination offering
fun between bun. Folks feasted on the DLUX BURGER (port wine-onion marmalade,
creamy blue cheese and arugula), WHITE FISH & SHRIMP BURGER (creamy sriracha and cabbage slaw) and the
BACKYARD BBQ BURGER (carolina coleslaw, bacon, cheddar cheese and bbq sauce)
Because our offerings were mini, Yelpers had room
to 3 fierce fry combinations
like blue-cheese and bacon! And no party is complete without a few libations which is why a selection of kegged cocktails and wine were available behind the
bar, in addition to Capital Brewery who brought out some killer growlers with brews for folks
to sample. And for dessert? Boooooooozy milkshakes of course, toasted marshmallow with a shot of RumChata winning the hears of many.
Yelp Elite Tom Q won a "name the next best burger" competition. His lamb and tziki burger will be on the menu at DLUX
for the entire month of January kicking off a year of burgers of the month. Yelp Elite Bob S took home a prize for best dressed dude and even a non-elite wowed judges with her DIY lettuce costume. Everyone left with gift bags packed with goodies from DLUX,
Capitol Brewery, Hubbard Avenue Diner in Middleton, Market Street Diner in Sun
Prairie, Luigi’s and a few others.
A huge… HUGE thanks goes
out to Caitlin of Food Fight and DLUX, restaurant GM Tom, AGM Alex, Chef Kelly and the ENTIRE team at DLUX who closed
the restaurant down for two hours and made sure nobody left hungry or thirsty.
These guys definitely pulled out all the stops and created an awesome evening for our yelpy crew.
Thanks to Kyle from Capitol Brewery and their current BrewMaster Brian, who
chatted with folks about his new pumpkin ale that blew people away. Thanks
to CC for creating way cool mini burger boxes complete with Yelp/DLUX stickers
and helping to put together our rad swag bags. And thanks to Jen Dederich for snapping
awesome pictures of our evening.
