Part one of Yelp Philadelphia's Choose Your Own Yelpventure month was more than just a little special. Sunday Soiree at Sullivan's Steakhouse was Yelp Philly's first-ever suburban Elite Event! And if the crowd of Elites and their guests had anything to say about a party in the 'burbs, it was that a little stretch of highway wouldn't get in the way of a good time!
The mood on the breezy patio was set with some live jazz, while the cool private room indoors showcased an impressive array of nibbles including a cheese and charcuterie spread, peanut noodles in Chinese take out boxes, shrimp cocktail in martini glasses, a beef tenderloin carving station and much more. A gorgeous Yelp ice sculpture (which doubled as a cocktail chiller!) anchored the beverage station. Passed hors d' oeuvres like crab cakes and scallop ceviche made several rounds.
What really set the event apart was the hospitality. General Manager Tumoor Haye and Event Coordinator Aja Cramer were on hand to greet guests, shake hands, shoot the breeze and make every person feel like the "King" of Prussia. If that wasn't enough, they raffled off two $50 and one $150 gift certificates to eat at Sullivan's and made sure everyone else received gift cards to return for a complimentary appetizer.
To sum up the event, guest David F probably put it best: "This was a great way (for Sullivan's) to introduce themselves and show that they're more than just a steakhouse… For Sullivan's this was a great score, but for Yelpers it was an even bigger score."
