Move over Lolla, there's a new fest in town and its name is Booze-a-Palooza. On a perfect Chicago evening, over 200 thirsty Yelpers and their guests gathered to explore Binny's Beverage Depot, the midwest's largest beverage retail space. With over 20 tables of beer, champagne, and liquor vendors pouring samples and mixing perfect cocktails, it was quite the buzzworthy evening!
Attendees drank to their hearts content. Metropolitan Brewing brought a Beer Bot that poured a never-before-tasted unfiltered Zwickl Flywheel (and made for many great photo opportunities). From our neighbors to the north, Lakefront Brewery sampled tastes of their Wisconsinite Ale that were exclusive to this event! Alien Tequila taught us that delicious cosmopolitans can indeed be made with tequila, and Hennessy muddled up an Oscar-winning drink with "The Artist". Chicago-based Koval Distillery mixed up huge batches of their refreshingly tasty Summer Slush, which is sure to be a hit at every party in the next few months. And when was the last time you were at an event where Moet & Chandon poured Dom Perignon? Booze-a-Palooza really lived up to it's name!

All that booze is sure to make anyone's head spin, but luckily, there was plenty of delicious food on hand to make sure everyone could make it to work the next day. TipsyCake decorated some special liquor brand decorated cakes and served up ultra-moist, rich, and chocolatey slices of Cointreau Cake, alongside Bailey's Cookie Sandwiches with shots of milk and ice-cream. Wild Ophelia Chocolate Company (owned by Chicago's very own, Vosges) (FB) were on hand, sampling their latest chocolate creations with beer pairings selected by Binny's Beer Manager: Adam Vavrick. When was the last time you tried Beef Jerky Chocolate with a brown ale, or Banana Peanut Butter Chocolate with an imperial stout?
For those with a move savory tooth, Qdoba Mexican Grill (FB & Twitter) was located conveniently at the end of the sampling line, and fed hungry Yelpers with their made-to-order naked burrito bowls, fueling them on well into the night. Popchips (FB & Twitter) was there for everyone's snacking needs with their "never fried, never baked" crispy chips in the newest flavors: jalapeno and chili lime. And Binny's showed all the visitors that it can serve all entertaining needs, not just beverages, by setting up an epic spread of charcuterie and cheese for Yelpers to nosh on.
It wouldn't be a great Yelp event without a little entertainment, right? DJs from HouseWreckers (FB & Twitter) kept the tunes spinning all night as guests mixed, mingled, tasted, sipped, and nibbled. Photographer extraordinare, Andres deLeon, snapped pics of all the action. You can relive the night through all his pictures here, and read all the reviews of Booze-a-Palooza here.
