Twin Cities Elites dressed and dashed to WXYZ Bar this week for Yelp's Mint Jubilee, a Kentucky Derby party complete with mint juleps, enormous hats and plenty of horsing around!
Once again, it became clear within the first 10 minutes of the party that yelpers are a stylish sort… very stylish. In fact, the bar and patio basically turned into a sea of seersucker suits, straw hats and floral frocks as guests were treated to a set from local band Loki! (These guys have a few shows coming up soon, so make sure to check their calendar…)Yelpers were treated to a spread of light springtime bites like veggie spring rolls, canapes, pinwheel sandwiches and crudite, along with refreshing mint juleps. Nothin' like bourbon on a warm spring evening.
The lobby lounge turned into a sampling wing of sorts. Abita Brewing from Louisiana brought in three of their most popular beers, including Purple Haze, Mardis Gras Bock and Turbodog. Randall N says, "Abita is super active in the restoration of New Orleans so I try to buy it as much as possible, even if I have to drive a bit." Oh, and a wonderful wine tasting topped off everybody's night with sips from A to Z Wineworks!
Many thanks to Wing at Canary Grey Photography, the Yelp intern team (Liz, Lauren and Sam!) and all the sponsors who helped put this dashing evening together—and, of course, to everyone who attended! And mega congratulations to the winners of the horsey cookie cutters and battery-operated derby game (winners were notified individually, in case you were wondering)!
Make sure to check out the reviews of the event on Yelp and the gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous pictures from Canary Grey on Flickr for more party fun. And if you're interested in becoming part of the Elite Squad, let's talk!
Until next time,
