Wednesday is the new Friday, as far as Hartford's Elite Squad is concerned. On Wednesday evening, the inaugural class of 2012 kicked off the year in style with the first-ever Yelp Elite bash at Peppercorn's Grill. Yelpers met and mingled over a mouthwatering spread of restaurant specialties at downtown Hartford's little slice of Italy. Thanks for hosting, Peppercorn's!
House wines flowed while guests sampled a multitude of dazzling dishes, from lobster carpaccio to platters of gnocchi and bite-sized prosciutto "sushi" rolled with gorgonzola, fig and balsamic essence. When it comes to Italian sushi, Alicia S confesses, "those little nuggets of gold will get me back in the door and ordering another glass of Pinot" ASAP. The savory artichoke ravioli in butter sauce "made those countless hours of yelping worthwhile" for Shane H, while Taryn M happily discovered the pillowy gnocchi to be "out of this world." "Thanks to the event" Jim M will find himself "wandering over to Peppercorn's to try the full menu" soon!
Huge thanks to the awesome skillz of Nick Caito Photo for stellar shots of the city's first Elite shindig. Tyler R admits, "Finally, a place to have a conversation about Yelping, reviewing, taking pictures of food, and the absurd number of parking lots I review in good, understanding company." We hear ya, Tyler – many yelptastic events to come! Peep the pics here and read the rundown (or write your own review) of our fabulous evening. Wanna be Elite? Here's how!
Until next time, SYOY!
